Committee

BESC is a not-for-profit organisation, delivered in partnership with Nicholson Street Public School.  Parents whose children attend the centre are Members of BESC and pay a $5 annual fee to cover their membership.  

The organisation is managed by a volunteer Parent Management Committee, composed of parents from the two main schools served by the centre (Nicholson Street and FJT).  

The Committee works hard on a number of fronts to support the centre, staff, children and parents. 

Areas of focus include:

  • Ensuring that we meet the legal and regulatory requirements of an After-School Care Service, including fulfilling all requirements of the National Quality Framework and child protection regulations. 

  • Managing the financial health of the Centre. 

  • Providing a safe and secure workplace for all staff. 

  • Promoting diversity and inclusion across the centre. 

 

An Annual General Meeting is held in term 4 every year, which includes the election of Committee members. All parents and carers of current and future BESC children are encouraged to attend and have their say in the future direction of the Centre. Volunteers for the Committee are always welcome!
